A Journey Rooted in Passion
Tigerwalah is the work of Anurag Sharma, who founded the company in February 2010 and has tracked Ranthambore's tigers ever since.
His own journey began as a tourist in 1997. It took three years of visits before he saw his first tiger. When it came, it was Machli, the Lady of the Lakes. He never looked back.
In 2010 began posting daily sighting updates from the park. The updates grew into a blog, and the blog became a trusted resource for anyone following Ranthambore and its tigers. Then came the bigger project: India's first web-based tiger-tracking database for Ranthambore, built in direct partnership with the Forest Department. It records the lineage, life events, and daily sightings of the park's tigers. This database is an information reservoir on Ranthambore Tigers, their lineage and life journey.
To put science behind his field experience, Anurag completed a Course in Wildlife Conservation at the Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Dehradun, in 2012, covering biodiversity, conservation challenges, and scientific tools used in modern conservation.
