FSR End Of An Era At Ranthambhore
Fateh Singh Rathore, ex-field director of Ranthambhore National Park, also referred to as Tiger Guru passed away today at Ranthambhore. He was unwell for some time & was undergoing treatment for cancer His cremation would take place around 9 A.M tomorrow.
Popularly known as FSR, he was associated with Ranthambhore since 1960 in various capacities both officially and otherwise. Anybody who is familiar with Ranthambhore surely must have heard his name. He dedicated his life and work towards the conservation of Ranthambhore & its tigers. In the 1970’s he was instrumental in the relocation of 20 villages outside the park, something which was essential for saving the park….
Recently he was also given a lifetime achievement award for his work on Tiger conservation by WWF India…
