Ranthambore Tiger Reserve– Once a hunting ground for Maharajah’s of Jaipur Ranthambore is today probably the best place in world to see wild tigers roaming freely in their natural habitat. Dry deciduous forest, beautiful landscapes with element of history scattered all across and better chances of seeing a tiger makes Ranthambore a favorite destination to visit for travelers, filmmakers and photographers.

Best time to visit– October till March though park remains open till June 30th .

Other wildlife apart from Tigers– Leopards, Sloth bear, spotted deer, Sambhar, Blue bull, Jackal, crocodile etc.

Closest Airport– Jaipur   Closest railway station– Sawai Madhopur

Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve– With highest density of tigers per square kilometer to it’s credit, Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve located in Madhya Pradesh is another favorite destination to see wild tigers. All three tourism zones are currently teeming with females with cubs .

Best time to visit– October till March though park remains open till June 30th .

Other wildlife apart from Tigers– Leopards, Sloth bear, spotted deer, Sambhar, Blue bull, Gaurs etc.

Closest Airport– Jabalpur   Closest railway station– Katni/Jabalpur

Kanha Tiger Reserve- Another prominent tiger reserve of Madhya Pradesh tucked away in Central India- Satpura hill range. The park is probably one of the biggest in India and is famous for it’s legendary wildlife, beautiful meadows, valleys and saal woodlands. All four zones of Kanha- Kanha, Kisli , Mukki and Sarahi have abundant wildlife.

Best time to visit– October till March though park remains open till June 30th .

Other wildlife apart from Tigers– Hard Ground Barasingha (only found here),Sloth bear, spotted deer, Sambhar, Gaurs, Jackals, Wild Dogs etc.

Closest Airport– Jabalpur / Nagpur  Closest railway station– Jabalpur/ Gondia

Our analysis for 2017-18– Definitely would be in maximum demand with presence of multiple females with cubs in tourism area. Mukki would continue to be the best among all zones especially for tiger sighting

Jim Corbett -Established in 1936, Jim Corbett is the oldest National Park in India. Located in the hill state of Uttaranchal, Jim corbett is the only park in India to offer option of stay inside the Reserve. There are more than 1o government managed guest houses providing basic yet comfortable stay inside the reserve. The park is abundant in wildlife and is definitely a paradise for those interested in birding. Dhikala FRH on banks of Ramganga reservoir is the most famous guest house.

It also has day visit options like Bijrani, Jhirna , Dhela and Durga Devi if you prefer to stay outside in hotel.

Best time to visit– Mid November till March though December and January are extremely cold months . Park remains open from Mid November till Mid June.

Other wildlife apart from Tigers– Leopard,  elephants, Barking deer,spotted deer, Sambhar, Jackals, Otters etc.

Closest Airport– Delhi  Closest railway station– Ramnagar

Our analysis for 2017-18– Dhikala has had a fantastic run in terms of tiger sightings with Paarwali being the show stopper. This season should be no different as sightings of her litter born last summer are expected to be the highlight.
